Thank God for IMM supporters, both in prayer and finances,
without whom this work would not be possible.
Thank you for your part in God’s work, reaching mining families
for Christ.
2 Wednesday
Pray for the IMM UK committee as they prepare for the 100th
Anniversary celebrations next year in the UK Midlands.
We look forward to that time when all four IMM committees will meet
together.
3 Thursday Ask God
to provide funds for Bibles and other items needed for a church being
built in Shakisso, Ethiopia. The
church will hold 350 people. Pray
for Bekele Lemecha, pastor of this fellowship.
4. Friday Thank God
for churches started by IMM that are now self-supporting, such as in
Wittenheim, France. Praise
God for the active youth of the church and recent baptisms that took place
in the area.
5 Saturday The IMM
UK committee supports two pastors in Romania, Vasile Popescu and Nicu
Traistaru. Praise God for souls saved through their ministries in the
Tirgu Jiu coal mining region.
6 Sunday God has
expressed His love for us in a personal letter that we are to share with
the rest of the world. “Let your light so shine before men, that they
may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
7 Monday Pray for
new areas like the Togo fields in Sierra Leone where Mustapha Rogers
serves. Pray for
opportunities being investigated by the IMM UK (Mike Jarvis and others) in
the Ukraine.
8 Tuesday Please
pray for open doors for IMM in the Pacific Rim, responsibility of the IMM
Australian Committee. Ask God
to provide opportunities for Peter Robertson to share IMM and develop the
work.
9 Wednesday Elijah
Dube, Morris Langa, Mohau Mafokeng and Pookkattu Paul serve the Lord among
mining families in South Africa where AIDS is rife and lifespans are
short. Ask God to provide the
financial resources needed for this vital work to go forward.
The workers are already in place!
10 Thursday The IMM
Swiss Committee will visit evangelists they support in Zimbabwe this
month. Pray for Kurt Feurer,
Chairman, as he travels and for good meetings with Pardon Chingovo, Irvin
Moyo, Weston Fanadzo, Anyway Divason and adviser Rev. D. J. Manyumbu.
11 Friday Pray for
daily strength for Pastor Haruna Jatan in Jos, Nigeria, who, although he
is frail, continues to witness by his life to the grace of God over many
years of ministry.
12 Saturday Pray
for several older IMM evangelists who have no intention of retiring, but
will faithfully serve the Lord until the very end.
Florentino Apaza (Bolivia), Aniceto Rodriguez and Estanislao Mamani
(southern Peru) are shining examples.
Ask God to bless them and their families today.
13 Sunday Sometimes
silence is the best way for us to handle a situation. “Be still, and
know that I am God.” Psalm
46:10 Lord teach us when it is best to be silent and
how to handle situations.
14 Monday Praise
God for three workers in central Peru, performing “higher service” for
the Lord. They serve up to
16,000’ above sea level. Pray
for continuing good health and encouragement for Hugo Palacios, Juan Cueva
and Jose Alvarez Falcon.
15 Tuesday Thank
God for the contact made with Rachel & Ade Yanac (Wycliffe Bible
Translators), based in Huaraz, Peru.
Ask God to open doors of opportunity for IMM in the mining areas
where they live.
16 Wednesday
Continue to remember Bill Lipman and his family in their
children’s ministry in Pimentel, northern Peru.
Praise God that lives are being “Changed by Love”, the name
given to this ministry.
17 Thursday Pray
for Santos Valero, head of the Chiguata Bible Institute near Arequipa, as
he studies Precept and intends introducing it at the Bible School.
Thank God for the help Santos has given IMM.
18 Friday In and
around many mining areas of southern Peru, some up high, some lower down,
IMM missionaries share Christ. Pray
for strength and encouragement today for Aurelio Castro (who travels by
scooter), Juan Caurcasto, Rene Churata, Estanislao Mamani and Aniceto
Rodriguez.
19 Saturday
Remember Victor & Ana Varas in prayer today.
They serve copper miners in Rancagua, near Santiago, Chile.
Thank God for their faithful service for more than thirty years
with both children and adults.
20 Sunday
Love comes when we take the time to understand and care
for another person. “If anyone gives even a cup of cold water
to one of these little ones…, I tell you the truth, he will certainly
not lose his reward.” Lord helps us to remember hurricane victims
even after the storms have passed. Teach us to give to those in need.
21 Monday Pray for
God’s best for the country of Bolivia as elections are imminent.
Pray for safety of the Bolivian people and indigenous and foreign
missionaries serving the Lord there.
22 Tuesday Ask God
to strengthen Julie Noble as she ministers in prisons, with university
students and in the churches. Thank God for her faithful service to IMM
and its missionaries in Bolivia.
23 Wednesday Pray
for God’s blessing on the University workers in Bolivia – Carlos and
Gracelia Castillo, Mario Medina and his replacement in December, Eliseo
Quispe Bustamente
24 Thursday Mining
companies, including ones in Australia known to Peter Robertson, are
gearing up to spend $200 million or more to develop a new silver mine in
Uyuni, Bolivia south of Potosi. Pray
that in God’s timing, IMM will be able to place one or more missionaries
in the area.
25 Friday Pray for
the church and para-church ministries of Bruno Penaranda and Eddie
Mendieta in Potosi. Ask God
to bless their wives, Leslie and Nancy and all of their many children.
26 Saturday Jhonny
Orozco supervises several UBB missionaries supported by IMM throughout the
mining areas of Bolivia and one in Argentina.
Ask God to give Jhonny wisdom in his leadership role and to be an
encouragement to Mario Abraham, Marcelo Juarez, Basilio Calani. Eliodoro
Padilla and Emilio Aguilar. Pray for God to guide Jhonny to the new worker
in Tupiza of His choice.
27 Sunday God has a
place of service for every person willing to serve. “Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God,
serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. 1 Peter
4:10. Our heavenly
Father, teach us to be more
concerned for others than our selves. Teach us to look for opportunities
to be of service to those around us.
28 Monday In
Pocoata, Bolivia, pray for four of God’s servants who visit remote
areas, working under Kachi, led by Dionicio Quispe and with support from
IMM and Living Truth Ministries in Alabama.
Justiniano, Basilio, Estanislao and Eulogio need and will
appreciate our prayers today.
29 Tuesday Ask God
to provide steady employment for IMM friend, Paul Liggitt who has worked
behind the scenes for IMM, producing videos, brochures, etc. Recently Paul produced ID cards for IMM workers in Peru and
Bolivia enabling them to gain access to mines where previously they were
not accepted.
30 Wednesday Pray for God’s special presence and peace for Martha Barber, IMM friend, and her family, in the loss of their husband and father, Max, now with the Lord (in this we rejoice). Pray similarly for others you know who have lost loved ones recently or are in need of special prayer today.
