Praise and Prayer

Tuesday  Thank God for IMM supporters, both in prayer and finances,  without whom this work would not be possible.  Thank you for your part in God’s work, reaching mining families for Christ.

Wednesday  Pray for the IMM UK committee as they prepare for the 100th Anniversary celebrations next year in the UK Midlands.  We look forward to that time when all four IMM committees will meet together.

Thursday Ask God to provide funds for Bibles and other items needed for a church being built in Shakisso, Ethiopia.  The church will hold 350 people.  Pray for Bekele Lemecha, pastor of this fellowship.

4. Friday Thank God for churches started by IMM that are now self-supporting, such as in Wittenheim, France.  Praise God for the active youth of the church and recent baptisms that took place in the area.

Saturday The IMM UK committee supports two pastors in Romania, Vasile Popescu and Nicu Traistaru. Praise God for souls saved through their ministries in the Tirgu Jiu coal mining region.

Sunday God has expressed His love for us in a personal letter that we are to share with the rest of the world. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Monday Pray for new areas like the Togo fields in Sierra Leone where Mustapha Rogers serves.  Pray for opportunities being investigated by the IMM UK (Mike Jarvis and others) in the Ukraine.

Tuesday  Please pray for open doors for IMM in the Pacific Rim, responsibility of the IMM Australian Committee.  Ask God to provide opportunities for Peter Robertson to share IMM and develop the work.

Wednesday Elijah Dube, Morris Langa, Mohau Mafokeng and Pookkattu Paul serve the Lord among mining families in South Africa where AIDS is rife and lifespans are short.  Ask God to provide the financial resources needed for this vital work to go forward.  The workers are already in place!

Thursday The IMM Swiss Committee will visit evangelists they support in Zimbabwe this month.  Pray for Kurt Feurer, Chairman, as he travels and for good meetings with Pardon Chingovo, Irvin Moyo, Weston Fanadzo, Anyway Divason and adviser Rev. D. J. Manyumbu.

Friday Pray for daily strength for Pastor Haruna Jatan in Jos, Nigeria, who, although he is frail, continues to witness by his life to the grace of God over many years of ministry.

Saturday Pray for several older IMM evangelists who have no intention of retiring, but will faithfully serve the Lord until the very end.   Florentino Apaza (Bolivia), Aniceto Rodriguez and Estanislao Mamani (southern Peru) are shining examples.  Ask God to bless them and their families today.

Sunday Sometimes silence is the best way for us to handle a situation. “Be still, and know that I am God.”  Psalm 46:10 Lord teach us when it is best to be silent and  how to handle situations.

Monday Praise God for three workers in central Peru, performing “higher service” for the Lord.  They serve up to 16,000’ above sea level.  Pray for continuing good health and encouragement for Hugo Palacios, Juan Cueva and Jose Alvarez Falcon.

Tuesday Thank God for the contact made with Rachel & Ade Yanac (Wycliffe Bible Translators), based in Huaraz, Peru.  Ask God to open doors of opportunity for IMM in the mining areas where they live.

Wednesday  Continue to remember Bill Lipman and his family in their children’s ministry in Pimentel, northern Peru.  Praise God that lives are being “Changed by Love”, the name given to this ministry.

Thursday Pray for Santos Valero, head of the Chiguata Bible Institute near Arequipa, as he studies Precept and intends introducing it at the Bible School.  Thank God for the help Santos has given IMM.

Friday In and around many mining areas of southern Peru, some up high, some lower down, IMM missionaries share Christ.  Pray for strength and encouragement today for Aurelio Castro (who travels by scooter), Juan Caurcasto, Rene Churata, Estanislao Mamani and Aniceto Rodriguez.

Saturday Remember Victor & Ana Varas in prayer today.  They serve copper miners in Rancagua, near Santiago, Chile.  Thank God for their faithful service for more than thirty years with both children and adults.

Sunday  Love comes when we take the time to understand and care for another person. “If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones…, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.” Lord helps us to remember hurricane victims even after the storms have passed. Teach us to give to those in need.

Monday Pray for God’s best for the country of Bolivia as elections are imminent.  Pray for safety of the Bolivian people and indigenous and foreign missionaries serving the Lord there.

Tuesday Ask God to strengthen Julie Noble as she ministers in prisons, with university students and in the churches. Thank God for her faithful service to IMM and its missionaries in Bolivia.

Wednesday Pray for God’s blessing on the University workers in Bolivia – Carlos and Gracelia Castillo, Mario Medina and his replacement in December, Eliseo Quispe Bustamente

Thursday Mining companies, including ones in Australia known to Peter Robertson, are gearing up to spend $200 million or more to develop a new silver mine in Uyuni, Bolivia south of Potosi.  Pray that in God’s timing, IMM will be able to place one or more missionaries in the area.

Friday Pray for the church and para-church ministries of Bruno Penaranda and Eddie Mendieta in Potosi.  Ask God to bless their wives, Leslie and Nancy and all of their many children.

Saturday Jhonny Orozco supervises several UBB missionaries supported by IMM throughout the mining areas of Bolivia and one in Argentina.  Ask God to give Jhonny wisdom in his leadership role and to be an encouragement to Mario Abraham, Marcelo Juarez, Basilio Calani. Eliodoro Padilla and Emilio Aguilar. Pray for God to guide Jhonny to the new worker in Tupiza of His choice.

Sunday God has a place of service for every person willing to serve.  “Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. 1 Peter 4:10.  Our heavenly Father, teach us to  be more concerned for others than our selves. Teach us to look for opportunities to be of service to those around us.

Monday In Pocoata, Bolivia, pray for four of God’s servants who visit remote areas, working under Kachi, led by Dionicio Quispe and with support from IMM and Living Truth Ministries in Alabama.  Justiniano, Basilio, Estanislao and Eulogio need and will appreciate our prayers today.

Tuesday Ask God to provide steady employment for IMM friend, Paul Liggitt who has worked behind the scenes for IMM, producing videos, brochures, etc.  Recently Paul produced ID cards for IMM workers in Peru and Bolivia enabling them to gain access to mines where previously they were not accepted.

Wednesday Pray for God’s special presence and peace for Martha Barber, IMM friend, and her family, in the loss of their husband and father, Max, now with the Lord (in this we rejoice). Pray similarly for others you know who have lost loved ones recently or are in need of special prayer today.
